For kids who need more time

An unhurried haircut for a child who needs one.

Some kids find a haircut hard. The clippers are loud, the cape feels wrong, the mirror is a lot. Families have been bringing those kids to us for a long time, and we're glad they do.

A hand mirror and folded towel resting on a dark counter.

What we can do

Go at your child's pace.

A quieter time of day

Tell us when you call and we'll try to put you in a calmer part of the day, when there's less noise and less waiting.

Scissors instead of clippers

If the buzzing is the problem, we don't have to use them.

No cape, if the cape is the problem

And breaks whenever breaks are what's needed.

Finish another day

If today ends up being half a haircut, come back and we'll finish it. We're open seven days.

Before you come in

What to tell us when you call

  • What tends to set your child off — sound, touch, the mirror, being caped, or waiting.
  • What's worked somewhere else before, if anything has.
  • What time of day they're usually at their best.
  • Whether sitting on a parent's lap works better than the chair.

What we're not: we're a family hair salon, not a therapy practice. Nobody here is going to claim credentials we don't have. What we do have is patience, time, and a lot of practice.

Questions we get

Good to know

Does it cost more?

No. It's $22 for twelve and under, whether the haircut takes ten minutes or forty.

What if we only get half a haircut done?

Then we've got a good start. Come back and we'll finish it — we're open seven days a week.

When is the salon quietest?

Weekday mornings and early afternoons. Saturday morning is the busiest time of our week.

Do I need to book?

Calling first genuinely helps here, so we can put you at a good time of day with the right person. Walk-ins are still welcome.

Call and ask for a quiet time.

Tell us what your child needs and we'll do our best to set it up.
